Let’s Race! SARL Season News for 2025

January 2025

Happy New Year to all my fellow pilots, race staff, families, and friends! The 2025 season of the Sport Air Racing League (SARL) is finally here, and it’s shaping up to be even more thrilling than the last! It’s time to get your aircraft ready, mark those calendars, and start planning for an unforgettable race season ahead!

This year, we’re taking things up a notch. The SARL continues to rebuild and grow, and I’m excited to announce we’ll have seven fantastic race events and an exciting increase in interest from both new and returning participants! The official race schedule is up, so check it out on the left side of this website and get ready to roll!

I’d like to extend a huge shoutout to our amazing sponsors: US Aviation Academy, Bravo Aviation, and Spectre Aeronautics. Their continued support has helped us kick off the season with a strong foundation, covering vital operational costs and insurance premiums. We’re also in talks with several other potential sponsors to make this season even bigger! As interest spreads, we’re also planning a fresh marketing strategy to take SARL to new heights. Important Reminder
There are TWO ESSENTIAL RULES to keep in mind for 2025:

All race participants MUST be paid members of the league—either as a Full or Provisional Member.
Each racer MUST add SARL LLC as an additional insured on their pilot liability policy.
This process is simple and hassle-free—your insurance agent can handle it, and we’ve even provided a sample email you can use to make it even easier! Don’t wait until race day to handle this—get your Certificate of Insurance (COI) in ahead of time.

Remember, you can’t just show up and race anymore. These requirements are critical for securing insurance, and it’s up to all of us to help spread the word about them. It’s a small step, but it’s essential to ensure a smooth and safe season for everyone.

Membership Options for 2025
Our membership fees help us cover the costs of insurance (which has gone up by 5% this year), as well as administrative and business expenses like this website. Your support also helps fund national category awards and points at the end of the season. This is all about the love of the sport—not about making money—and every penny goes back into making the season better for everyone.

Here are your 2025 membership options:

Full Member: $130/year
As a full member, you’ll reserve your race number and enjoy priority access to it—veteran racers get the first chance to lock in their number! This membership also gives you access to all races in the season and the chance to accumulate points for the national championship. Secure your number early, as they can go fast!

Provisional Member: $30/one race
New to SARL? This is a great way to try it out! A provisional membership allows you to race once, receive a race number, but you won’t accumulate points for the championship. Should you decide to race more, you can upgrade to a full membership for just $100 more. A COI is still required for all race participants—yes, even for a single race!

Please Note: Membership dues are non-refundable if races are canceled or if you’re unable to attend.

What’s Next?
Ready to race? Head to the link below to complete your membership application, select your race number, and pay your 2025 membership fee. After you join, contact your insurance agent to secure your Certificate of Insurance (COI), and be sure to name SARL LLC as additional insured. You can email your COI to [email protected]. We’ll update the website to confirm your membership and reserve your race number.
