We have a treat from the TVAR race in the form of data
logger tracks from 7 different aircraft. I have
overlaid the tracks for your education and amusement. You can click on any one and get a larger view.
The first is the Start / Cross Over / Finish line. All
tracks pic are North-up oriented. We launched North, made a 180 and started off to Turn 1, Southeast.
Turn 1 was a right turn around a large white
water tower, visible from space. Most racers
did a good job of it - once they got there. One of our number started off to Florida but came to their senses...
Turn 2 was Russleville airport and everyone
did a good job on the turn.
After crossing over Courtland, the
Rocket turn was a very visible turn point. Maybe not visible from space, but certainly visible from Arkansas provided
you were 100 feet AGL. Everyone made it around the turn in fine fashion. The inbound tracks varied a bit...
Turn 4, the "Island Turn" or
the "Dam Turn" depending on who was making the call, was likewise found, eventually, by all.
And here is the thirty-thousand-foot view of
our combined tracks. Don't EVEN write me and
ask, "Who was that track that..." cause I won't be saying. :)
